Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) is a tertiary care medical facility located in the housing estate of Yishun located in the north of Singapore.
Named after philanthropist Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat, a Malayan/Singaporean banker and hotelier whose estate donated $125 million to the hospital, KTPH opened initially with just its specialist outpatient clinics serving patients on 28 March 2010. It fully opened in June 2010.
As the first general hospital in the north of SIngapore, 590-bed Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is equipped to serve a region covering Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, Sembawang and Woodlands. Located in the heart of Yishun town centre beside the lush surroundings of Yishun Pond, the hospital was built taking into account the well-being of patients in a holistic and environment friendly manner. To augment KTPH, the Yishun Community Hospital (YCH), a 425-bed hospital for sub-acute and rehabilitative care patients, was built beside KTPH and opens in Dec 2015.
